Shankar Thangamani, PhD

Shankar Thangamani is an Associate Professor of Microbiology and the Principal Investigator of the laboratory. His lab aims to understand the host immune defense mechanisms that regulate fungal pathogens. The lab utilizes various mouse models of fungal infection, immune cell analysis using single-cell RNA sequencing, CRISPR-Cas9, and molecular approaches to dissect the immune cell types and signaling pathways involved in antifungal immune responses to fungal pathogens.
